Tips & Tricks to Make Life Easier
Four quick tips from me, Molly Boren, Certified Professional Organizer®.
Here's hoping they make your life a little easier.
DO CHIP AWAY
I'm all about baby steps. Hence, the Chip-Away Challenge. What project can you chip away at by breaking it down into the tiniest of steps? For me, it's cleaning the kitchen cabinets. I've spent five to ten minutes on one door or shelf most days for a couple of weeks, and I'm about 3/4 done — it's gradual, but so much better than never! Seeing that I'm moving toward a goal has a magical effect on my state of mind. Is your project the garage, filing, inbox, photos, reading list...?
MEETUPS
Join my virtual Get-Organized Meetup on Sat, April 17, 1-4pm, on Zoom! It's a fun, low-pressure way to FOCUS on a project with a little guidance and a lot of friendly support. Read more about this free/"pay what you wish" community event and sign up here, and see one participant's before-and-after on the left.

DON’T LEARN MORE
I recently heard the phrase "insight overload" and it totally resonated. Ever go on a learning spree — about your field, yourself, politics, parenting, anything! — and eventually realize not much is sticking? Try resisting the urge to fill that brain with more info for a while, and give your new insights time to sink in. Pause that podcast. Wait on that webinar. Tell your therapist you're skipping a week. Listen to some music instead.
GET SQUEEZED
Simple pleasure alert: easy to clean, easy to store, easy to use. And since this Oxo citrus juicer is a measuring cup too, maybe you can donate your other small liquid measuring cup? PS Great for making cocktails!
GIVE PERIOD SUPPLIES
Curious about virtual sessions? Read about them here, schedule one here, or schedule a free 30-minute consult to chat about them here. For now I'm still working mostly by video and — hooray for spring-like weather — onsite in outdoor spaces like garages and porches. Email me to schedule for locations in and around Ann Arbor, MI!
