Here are 4 quick tips from me, Molly Boren of Simplicity Works Organizing Services. I hope they make your life a little easier.
Do Eat Together
Declutter your kitchen & build friendships at the same time with an "Everything Must Go" potluck. Invite friends to bring a few ingredients they've been meaning to finish (kale, anyone?) & throw everything together for an interesting & delicious new dish. Stir-fry, soup, omelet, or pasta sauce - you can't go wrong.
Don't Say No
Don't decline help. Many of us are so self-reliant that our automatic reply is, "oh, I'm OK." But we're also trying to do more than is humanly possible! The next "Can I help?" you hear, halt the auto-no, think of a specific, manageable task, & ask.
Get Shelves
A client introduced me to OrigamiRack's impressive line of freestanding shelves. They really do require zero assembly, fold down flat for storage, & open up into sturdy, nice-looking shelves in 20 seconds. And now they have furniture for all over the house: desks, carts, & more.
Help Friends In Deed's "Circles"
In May I told you about this great poverty-fighting program expanding to the Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti area, attacking generational poverty from all sides & involving whole communities. They are especially in need of childcare volunteers & info about employment opportunities. Email me about the above, or go here if you'd like to volunteer, & go here if you'd like to donate funds!
